    BENTLEY’S 100TH ANNIVERSARY –

    A meeting has been scheduled for June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Hall for residents from the town and country as well as community organizations.  Come on out, listen to the plans made to date and provide your input.  A few people cannot make this huge event happen – we need our community members to step forward and help out.

     

    MAY 13 COUNCIL MEETING –

  • Parade invitations were received with the following Council members attending:

  • Rocky Mountain House – Cora Knutson

  • Sylvan Lake – Pam Davey

  • Eckville – no representative attending

  • Received the Sylvan Lake R.C.M.P. Detachment Performance Plan for 2014/2015.  Policing priorities include substance abuse – alcohol (public drinking and intoxication), safe roads (impaired driving, seatbelts, speeding, intersections, etc.); crime reduction strategy – drug abuse (possession, trafficking and cultivation) and vandalism to property (damage to residences, businesses and vehicles).  If you are having problems with speeding vehicles, etc., please contact the R.C.M.P. directly.

  • The Council Remuneration Policy was discussed to clarify questions from Council members.

  • Review of Salary Grid Levels – a motion was made to accept the new salary grid as presented to Council.

  • An invitation was received from the Canadian Red Cross Volunteer Appreciation Event.

  • A Proclamation for Seniors’ Week, June 2nd – 8th, was signed.

  • Discussion regarding the campground ended with a decision that it would not be opened for the May long weekend due to no caretaker coming forward.
